Supervisee in Social Work

Woodbridge, Manassas, & Virtual

She/Her/Hers

Kim is a compassionate and dedicated Supervisee in Social Work who believes that meaningful change begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. She takes a warm, collaborative, and holistic approach to therapy, creating a space where clients can show up authentically while developing the tools needed to navigate life’s challenges.

Kim’s educational background reflects her longstanding interest in understanding human behavior, emotional well-being, and the experiences that shape who we are. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Ashford University, where she developed a strong foundation in human behavior, psychological development, and mental health. She later earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Walden University, further expanding her clinical knowledge and strengthening her ability to support individuals, families, and couples through a person-centered and holistic lens.

Kim integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, solution-focused techniques, trauma-informed care, and experiential approaches. She understands that therapy is not simply about learning strategies and coping skills, it is also about self-expression, exploration, connection, and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself. Kim believes strongly in the power of genuine therapeutic relationships and uses relationship-building as a foundation for healing, personal growth, and self-discovery.

Kim especially loves working with teenagers and considers adolescents one of her favorite populations to serve. She enjoys creating an environment where teens can feel comfortable being themselves, express emotions without judgment, strengthen their confidence, and develop healthy ways to navigate relationships, family dynamics, school pressures, anxiety, depression, identity development, and the many transitions that come with adolescence.

While teens hold a special place in her clinical work, Kim is equally passionate about working with adults and couples. She supports adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, and major life transitions. In her work with couples, Kim helps partners explore communication patterns, strengthen emotional connection, navigate conflict, rebuild trust, and develop healthier ways of understanding and responding to one another.

Kim recognizes that every person enters therapy with a different story, which is why she does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy is tailored to each client’s individual needs, personality, experiences, strengths, and goals.

Kim is deeply committed to creating a safe, open, affirming, and inclusive therapeutic environment for individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds. She warmly welcomes members of the LGBTQIA+ community and strives to provide a space where each client’s identity, experiences, relationships, and challenges are honored and respected.

As Kim continues her professional journey in counseling and social work, she remains committed to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and access within mental health care. Whether working with a teenager discovering who they are, an adult navigating a difficult season of life, or a couple seeking greater connection, Kim considers it a privilege to walk alongside her clients as they work toward healing, growth, empowerment, and meaningful change!
